Environmental Abstraction - 1980's

Raimondi became intensely interested in environmental issues and the plight of endangered species in the late 1970s. He spent several months on Nantucket Island, reading and researching the subjects and exploring new artistic directions to express his passions and concerns about man’s mythic and historic relationship with the fragility of our planet. The resulting eight sculptures reflect a significant evolution in Raimondi’s design and visual language and include some of his most impressive monumental works.
