Grace, 1991
Grace is inspired by and dedicated to Grace Hartigan, a close friend and painter he admires greatly. The art critic William Colbert describes it this way: “…While Grace has great gams, thighs, and a beautifully rounded and tucked-in butt, Raimondi’s realistic woman ends there. Her upper body rises in sensuous, wind-lifted curves. The feminine and alluring forms of her lower body morph into a wilder manifestation of grace. The Apollonian is topped by Dionysian flames that resemble tendril and leaf forms.”
Grace Hartigan passed away in 2008.
