Lupus, 1985

Raimondi was awarded a three-month fellowship at the MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire in 1982. There he had the time to explore his fascination with wolves, creating realistic studies as well as expressionistic detailed sketches. In 1985 the Lotus Development Corporation commissioned Raimondi to create Lupus (Latin for “wolf”) for the terrace of its new world headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts. At 40 feet in height, it stands high above the banks of the Charles River, overlooking the beautiful skyline of Boston.
