Robert Angeloch

American, 1922 - 2011


Robert Angeloch was born on April 8, 1922, in Queens, New York. He studied at the Art Students League of New York, Academy of Fine Arts, Florence, Italy, and privately with Fiske Boyd in Plainfield, New Hampshire.


Angeloch was an Instructor at the Art Students League of New York Summer School from 1964-1979. He was a co-founder of the Woodstock School of Art and in addition to teaching there from 1968 to 1999, served as director for three years and President for nineteen years. He served as Secretary, Vice-Chairman, Chairman, and on the Board of Trustees of the Woodstock Artists Association. In 1975 he opened the Paradox Gallery in Woodstock which he operated until his retirement in 1999.


He died in Woodstock, New York on March 18, 2011, and in 2012 the Woodstock School of Art held a retrospective.
