Stephen's Summer, 1973

After becoming the first person in his family to graduate from college (Massachusetts College of Art) Raimondi received a commission. Massachusetts Art Summer, a state program, chose him to build his first site-specific sculpture along Interstate 91 in Bernardston, Massachusetts, where he moved to work with his lover and assistant, Stephen McPeters, for whom the sculpture was dedicated. In 1981, Stephen's Summer was sold to a private collector in Minneapolis, Minnesota who subsequently donated the sculpture to The University of St. Paul, Minnesota.
