Tigris, 1995
Inspired by his studies of animals in the wild, and perhaps the most realistic sculpture of his Environmental Abstraction series, Raimondi’s Tigris can easily be recognized as a rampant tiger at first glance. The sleek, bronze sculpture thrusts upward with muscular, masculine power, yet also incorporates a kind of feminine, almost delicate nature too, when viewed from certain angles.
