William Baillie

Scottish, 1923 - 1991

William Baillie was born in Edinburgh in 1923 where he trained and later taught at Edinburgh College of Art until he retired in 1988. He passed away in 2011.

Inspiration from travel to India, Nepal and Sikkim influenced much of his work in both oil and watercolor. He held the posts of president of both RSW and RSA. Elected Hon. RA in 1991.
